Anybody have a Random Name Generator for CAS Sims 2?

Not one for NPC or townies, something that can name a sim when creating them.
I have ways to do it manually but can be slow and annoying sometimes.
I miss the way it works in Sims 3, adds some fun.

Comments welcome.

Also, for the Fun of it, anybody notice that no matter how big a Community Lot is,
or how many activities there are, all the sims pick one spot to crowd around,
practically stepping on toes while the rest of the lot is almost empty?

Well, I don't have a random name generator, nor have I noticed a crowd around one spot on a community lot. I'm clearly not the right person to respond to this thread, but whatever..

They will crowd around one spot if there is an object with a high attraction score.

The FT soccer net thing is one - my sims will all go to it and stand around, passing every other object on the lot.

Nothing for in the game, but there are many external programs/ webpages which can generate random names. Would you be interested in those?



Sims will route to a door when they arrive on the community lot. If you make a lot that has only one door, for example a playground with no buildings except for the toilet, then they will all make a beeline to the toilet and try to get inside all at once!

Except when there is a soccer net on the lot, @simsmaple. They go past the doors as well!

I do use external random name generators. Write down anything I like.

I made a random name generator spreadsheet in Google Sheets cataloguing every name I could find from a premade townie or NPC to name my townies-- if you want to add new names to the list it's easy enough to pop them in! Feel free to make a copy for yourself.

I do the same thing in Word with names I just come across.
A column of first & last, male, female then just mix and match.
Can be fun, can be slow and annoying.
