It can't be official. Compare it to the GLS cover, and you'll see that there's a lot missing - rating, logos, etc.

It looks too fake to be true, let alone official.

moreover... after years of modding and tutorials and new programs developed to create CCs, it seems to me a bit late for EA Games to think to it by itself

it's definitely just an unofficial EP, just like Face Factory for the sims 1 back then

But that's not even TS2 in the pictures, unless it's a BodyShop kind of thing. It's like those games where you customize the texture of every part of the clothing in-game.

Heh, googled it. Most of the hits were torrent sites, but I ran the couple legit sites through the google translator, and apparently it's on a similar vein to the 3rd party Sims 1 stuff. But, the reviews were lackluster at best. Sounds like if you can handle Body Shop and Photoshop (or whatever your choice is) for making clothes it's a complete waste of money and HD space.

Okay, I translated the description from German to English from amazon.de:

"Fashion Factory" is a new "styling tool" for "The Sims 2" by the producers of the Add-ons "Face Factory" and "That's Life". "Fashion Factory" gives you varioius options to create your own fashion, accessoires and trends for your Sims and easily import them into "The Sims 2". The user can choose from hundreds of variations and fabrics to combinate in many ways to create a new outfit for the Sim. You can load new fabrics at any time or import your own.

I also looked up the "Face Factory" and it said something about creating new faces by using pictures of your friends or any other person and then you can easily create new faces.

Both add-ons are, as far as I can see it, from a German company called EMME.
Hope I helped a bit.

Err, don't waste your money, seriously. If it's made by the same company that did Face Factory then it is absolute garbage. Some of their example pics for it looked like they were a blooper reel. Like seriously BAD.

Just use Body Shop and learn how to make some nice textures, seriously. Nothing that a prepackaged program cranks out is going to let you get too creative, and by the looks of it, you're going to end up with a bunch of stuff that look like Myspace background made in MS Paint slapped onto a dress.

Yeah, the reviews on some sites besides amazon made it sound like it wasn't much beyond letting you put your choice of their fabrics onto a set group of clothes. I think the only possibility for it being useful is if you can't use Body Shop MAYBE you'll be able to work with a different interface. All the reviews (not product descriptions, owner reviews) that I've read seem to be saying how disappointing it is that it doesn't offer anything beyond what can already be done with Body Shop.

I suppose if all you had was Life Stories, which doesn't come with a bodyshop...
