This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures
Default Stutter even when getting 100fps+
Well, my game seems to stutter, (when moving the camera or loading lots although the second is to be expected), which gives the appearance of lag, but if i have Fraps open, or fps on, I'm getting 90-100 fps, what is this about? I'd imagine it's just EA's horrible coding, but is the a fix for smoother rendering? This stuttering appears on both highest graphics AND lowest. I am running:

AMD Phenom x4 @ 2.3Ghz
5GB DDR2 800Mhz
ATI 4870 1GB
600GB WD 7500 RPM

I don't really want to put Sims 3 on my new gaming computer, so I keep it on this, but if you think that it will run better on an nVidia and Intel then here:

Intel 2.3GHz Bloomfield i7 overclocked @ 3.6Ghz(stable)
6GB DDR3 2000MHz
nVidia Fermi 475 SLI 2-WAY
250GB WD 15000 RPM

Have you tried putting the game on High priority (task manager) and ensuring all other processes not in use are deleted?

My computer is a multimedia gaming system. It can hook to the TV or radio, what ever. But if I don't put Sims on high priority it feels really slow to me. If it's on below normal it is REALLY REALLY choppy and sometimes crashes. So I think you should try upping the priority (but never put things on realtime, that option has killed me soooo many times lol).

Also make sure your game is up to date .

Can the eye even see at 100 fps? Dang. My game's usually at around 0 (yes, I've seen it read 0 a few times) to 30 fps. And that's at lowest graphic settings with no CC.

Try disconnecting the internet when you play the Sims. That usually speeds things up for me.

  • Sims 3 - Game lags or fails to load or is glitchy
    Issues
    1. Have you just updated to a newer patch or installed a new Expansion Pack and/or Stuff Pack?
    2. Do you suddenly find your game is failing to load past the loading bar or after selecting your save game? Or does it take hours to load when previously it only took minutes?
    3. Do you experience glitches like
      • missing books, traits, cannot carry out skill-related activities, etc
      • have long strings name with paths instead of the objects' names
      • missing previously installed content
      • missing interactions with objects and Sims
      • and many more

    Causes
Then, you have custom content that is not compatible with this new game version or is broken/corrupted by the patching/installing.
If you have a core mod that is not compatible, the game would simply crash back to Desktop.

    Solution
Remove ALL custom content, not just selective content! Do the steps in Game_Help:Sims_3_Game_Problemwiki.

    Fixing your game
    • If the problem is with .packages CC (ie. you needed only to move the \Mods\Packages\)
      • If the new game can load, then read this FAQ on how to rectify the Lag issue and to find the problem content: Game_Help:Package_File_Lagwiki.
      • Identifying the problem content - Game_Help:TS3_Finding_Problem_Custom_Contentwiki.
      • Once you which know which content caused the glitch, you'd need to revisit the site where you get the .packages from to see if there's a new update or if they need to be discarded as they are no longer compatible.

    • If the problem is with .Sims3Packs CC (ie you needed to rename the user files)
      • Try running Dashboard on the DCBackup folder to see if it can detect anything wrong with those .packages
      • Or if you want to test Sims3Packs one-by-one, you can use CUSTARD (Alpha testing, Windows only) by Delphy in the Modding forum
      • Otherwise, you'd need to revisit the site where you get the Sims3Packs from to see if if there's a new update or they need fixing, etc.

Remember: during all the above testing, always load a new game to test (you can however load the same new game if you saved that). Never load a pre-patched or pre-EP/SP saved game as removing custom content and caches will reset all the custom content in that world to base-game items and it won't load them back if you happen to Save before you Quit.

Callistra, this happened before I even had CC or Expansions, Mr. Vanilla had it as well. In fact, after installing alot of CC, my loading time went down from 5-10 minutes for the second loader, to 2-3 minutes, after I installed awesome mod, Ambitions, HL, WA, and 20 other packages.

Alundra, tried your fix, didn't seem to help, even tried gamebooster, which closes inactive services and such(although I only had 15 processes) Thanks though, it may help with something else.
