Default How to get rid of sims skills?
I've tried lots of mods suggested on these sites, and none of them work that well for me. I get on to the loading screen of a custom content-less game, and it's got less than an inch of space left to load and it does nothing for hours.

I mainly want to get rid of the skills and start over (while not having to restart the household and redo everything including relationships). I have the Book of Talent, but there's no way to decrease skills. And I accidentally clicked 10 on each of them, thinking there'd be a new menu thing that would say "start over," but there never was, and now my sims do everything too easily. I sort of like the struggle of starting out poor and working up to prosperity, without having to start over.

Actually, Are you sure you can't click the set skills option and set it to 0 or 1.

There's no option for that whatsoever... The Book of Talent only has "Master Skill," "Add skill point," and "Set Skill Level," and the set skill level one only lets you go up in level. My sim was on level 7 of painting and only had the options to go to 9 or 10.

Twallan's Master Controller lets you input a specific value. You can type in the actual skill level you want.

AwesomeMod has a console command "dropskill" which will drop the skill entirely, as if the sim never had it.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.

Yeah, just type in -1 to get rid of it. Then it doesn't show under the skill tab.

Twallan? just put it to 0 and did you save your game before you did that? If anything happens at least you can still revert to your last save game.

Yup, confirmed. Just set it to 0 not -1. It should remove your current skill from Skill tabs.

Just to clarify :

"0" and "-1" do actually produce different results in regards to the "Advanced \ Skill Level" operation in MasterController.

Setting to "-1" performs a complete reset of the skill, dropping all your challenge results. Though one would normally only do that if they broke the skill and wanted to completely restart it.

Setting to "0" simply removes all your skill experience and hides the skill on the tab.

Cheers.
