Default Don Lothario and Bella Goth: What's the Story?
...or rather, what's YOUR story? At the beginning of the game, Bella Goth is claimed to have last been seen climbing the walls to the roof of Don Lothario's condo. There's nothing in his memories to indicate they had a relationship, so what do you make of this? Did he somehow help her escape Pleasantville for Strangetown? Was she sneaking around on Mortimer's telescope and using Don's, only to be punished by the Universe by being abducted?

I'm playing the Uber-Megahood, which lets Pleasantview sims re-meet Bella, so I'm toying around with possibilities.

I always believed Don was an alien disguised as a Sim. The alien command had him undergo plastic surgery and skin chlorophyll removal ( that is why they are green, right?), inspired by what the famous Sim Popstar Michael Jacksim did, so that he would look like a normal Sim. He was sent here to experiment and gather research about Sim social relations, specializing in Sim attraction and mating habits. But soon he loved what he was doing so much, he forgot that he was on a mission and eventually just didn't want to return to the boring space-ship.
So in his quest to hook-up with all female Sims in his neighborhood, he was very intrigued by Bella Goth because she was so dedicated to her husband. So after being shut down, he did some research and decided to play the friend card. Bella, being the good person she is, responded positively to his friendly gestures, and one night he invited her over to his condo to hang out. He took her to the roof and tried to get her into the hut tub but she refused; and after several attempts, he still couldn't convince her to help him with his research on cheating housewives. He was so upset by this that he decided to get rid of her in an attitude of "if I can't have her, then neither can Mortimer" he got her to look through the telescope and then called command. He told them to abduct Bella, but they refused since they usually only abduct male Sims; however, he made it sound like Bella is jeopardizing his mission and she had to be gotten rid of; but he knew command would never agree to killing her (the aliens had a bad past with the Grim Reaper I can only assume), so he convinced them to abduct Bella, erase her memory, and dump her in strange town. So that's what happened, Bella is in strange town and doesn't even remember she has a family; Don on the other hand continues his mission and got away with making Bella "disappear" because no one has proof that he had anything to do with it, he is a special alien agent and can easily hide his tracks.
Makes sense to me :P

Next time around my megahood I'm playing Don as the helper of the evil twin (strangetown) Bella by abducting and hiding the real Bella so Don could get fake Bella to remarry Mortimer and take all the money. Though probably Dina is going to risk losing all the money by bringing back the real Bella to thwart Don's plan.

Really I don't know why I'm going to do it that way, Don to me is romance/fortune and chief of staff, he already is loaded.

They try to make it seem suspicious that the Caliente sisters arrived at the same time she disappeared, but the thing is, Dina is the widow of Bella's brother.

Don does have a memory of "got rejected for making out by Bella."

I wonder why his interest in Cassandra, anyway--marrying the daughter of the woman who refused his advances. That in itself is kinda strange.

I think it went something like this:

Nina batted her eyelashes at Don and asked him to seduce Bella but didn't really explain why she wanted him to. The reason was that him doing so would hopefully break up the Goth marriage, making it easy for Dina to swoop in. That plan failed so the Calientes (using their alien heritage ties) had Bella abducted from Don's roof and Dina pursued Mortimer from there. Don didn't want to get left out so he proceeded to go after Cassandra to get his hands on the family fortune as well.

Or, alternatively, Don just wanted to woohoo with Bella and didn't really have any interest in the Goth fortune so when Bella was abducted on his second seduction attempt, he was really annoyed and suspected the Calientes were behind it so he got himself engaged to Cassandra in order to thwart them and get in good with Mortimer so he'd get lots of money for "helping" to find Bella and maybe get a third chance at seducing Bella when she got back.

When their numbers dwindled from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect...Hungry

I'd always wondered if there was supposed to be a connection between the Calientes' alien heritage and Bella's disappearance.

here's the story:

Dina and Nina were newbies with not a lot money in their pockets and Dina as a passionate woman turns out to use her beauty to lock rich men in her cage in this between Nina met Don and introduced him to Dina but however Dina was more busier than her sister so Nina slowly happened to have a crush on his
Dina started her evil plan with the richest family in pleasantview; the Gothes. she might have been thinking to herself "Micheal Bachelor is an old man probebly impressed by the first woman he meets so..ill be the first he meets" she then trapped poor Micheal in her love then by the death of him all his money was gave to Dina who happened to loose it all to a bulgar at the first night, so the widow started searching for another Rich man easily been killed, prefered old ones..so Daniel Pleasant loves his life so much he wont leave this world this soon any other choices? yes! Montimer Goth..but he already has a wife.."oh Nina what did you say about youe friend? what was his name? oh Lothario!"
Dina first as a neighbor started visiting her sisters sweetheart Don easily addicted to her even more than the love he gave to Nina so now he would do anything to have her one day cuddling on the bed Dina tells him her plan of being rich and so -no one hates money- Don accepted to be a part of it "here goes the plan: you impress Bella only as a friend then take her to your house for a look-theres-a-shooting-star! and i call my grandfather (how happens to be an alian) to abduct her then ill marry montimer and you marry Cassandra and together, we'll take all their money" Don after that night ignoring Nina, did whatever he was ordered to but there was something wrong Skip Broke (Brandy Brokes husband) accidently saw the abduction when he ran back to home to call 911 he happened to be drowned in his little pool with no ladders the murderer, was never found! although Nina, Dina and Don knew who she was..and now everything is going on as they expected...

I've always wondered that myself. My theory is that Don decided that if he couldn't have Bella, then he would seduce her daughter instead (creepy, I know!)! As for Bella herself, here's what I think, going by what we know of her back story and the fact that Don has that "got rejected for making out by Bella" memory:

I think that Don had made up his mind to seduce Bella, get her to divorce Mortimer, and then marry her. But there was only one problem. Bella didn't feel the same way about Don. Far from it! She was happy with Mortimer and didn't appreciate Don's advances. But Don wouldn't give up. Eventually, even though he knew Bella wasn't in love with him, he decided to get bold and try to make out with her. Bella, of course, rejected him. This made him angry, and he decided that if he couldn't have Bella, then no one could.

So he enlisted the help of Dina and Nina (whom he was using to satisfy his romantic "needs" since Bella kept rejecting him) to get rid of her. Since they are part alien, they have something that totally human sims don't: the ability to freely communicate with aliens. So they contacted their alien bretheren and arranged for them to abduct Bella. They agreed, and the abduction happened while Bella was climbing over Don's balcony in an attempt to escape before he could attempt to go any further with her!

And the rest, as they say, is history! As a little footnote, I'd like to add that when you think abot it, it's no wonder that Mortimer does not approve at all of Cassandra's engagement to Don. After all, he suspects (correctly) that Don was behind the dissaperence of his wife....and there's no way he's going to let Don make his daughter "dissapear" as well!

I wonder if, next time I play Pleasantview, I might just have him leave her at the altar and find another guy for her. LOL After her therapy sessions with the Sim Shrink, that is.

I REALLY like the idea of the Calientes using Don to break up the Goths. In my Pleasantviews, I play Dina as financially brilliant, but completely lazy -- she prefers being a 'supervisor' or manipulating her way into money (like by marrying Mortimer Goth).

I thought about Cassandra and Malcolm, but their personalities clash with each other a bit.

At least with Gilbert he'd have a "Married a Rich Sim" memory.

i guess Darren is better too..he might be a bit old for her with a teenage boy but he already has a crush on her and besides Cassandra likes him Dirk wont be a trouble too hes a very great young gentleman and as soon as they marry if you want some more privacy you can send Dirk to collage..once when Cassandra rejected Dons proposal at the alter i made her propose Darren at the same time the party mater was a disaster coz Don attacked Darren

I generally don't play with a lot of supernatural elements in my game, so for me, Bella's disappearance wasn't an alien abduction, but a kidnapping! She was presumed dead for a long time, until finally returning on the doorstep of Goth Manor with no real recollection of what had happened. The kidnappers are still at large, but the Goths are just happy to have Bella back.

As for Don, I thought of Bella's appearance on his patio as a friendly visit (on her part anyways). Don may have had lecherous thoughts in mind, but Bella was just making a friendly gesture to the new guy in town, and when he came onto her, she quickly left. After her disappearance, he was suspected for a short while until he was finally cleared and he moved onto Cassandra, who had no idea of his attempts to mack on her mother.

On the OT note though, I NEVER pair Cassandra up with Darren after Don leaves, though! For me, it's soooo cliche! The man in love with his best friend who is engaged to be married to a total jerk! Every chick flick movie ever has followed this route! Once Darren sees that Cassandra is oblivious to his feelings, he moves onto someone who notices him--that pretty Dina Caliente who is now single, ever since Bella returned. Cassandra always ends up married to a townie in my game. I love bringing the townies into play, as they seem more random and unpredictable than a CAS sim that I perfect myself. Plus the townies have little flaws to them that I find charming, like Benjamin Long's giant chin!

I think Mortimer had Bella abducted! I think he knew the caliente sisters through his alien connections and convinced them to send their family to abduct her and ship her to Strangetown with her memories erased. He promised Dina he would marry her if she was successful. He found out Bella was spending a little too much time with Don and got rid of her for revenge. Don knows this but has no proof and he is marry Cassandra for revenge on Mortimer.

Ok I'm using a really old account of mine but its the only account of mine I can remember because partial amnesia anyway here's my version: Dina isn't a gold digger,Dina absolutely adored Michael and he adored her but when he died a bit of herself died with him,she stopped doing what she loved and was severly depressed and was extremely naive when it came to men since Michael was the only person she ever dated. Then she met Don who through his emotional manipulation had both her and her sister willing to do everything for him. After a failed attempt at getting Bella to kiss him he killed her out of pure anger and after hiding her body then told the police and the Goths that she had been abducted by aliens. Don made Dina flirt with Mortimer so that Don could get all of the Goth's fortune by having Dina marry Mort and Don marry Cassandara and then Don was planning on killing both Dina and Cassandara and using their insurance money to move to a nice house in a another neighborhood to repeat what he did in Pleasantview. In my game Dina is now happily married to her now resurrected husband and is now expecting a baby, both her and her sister caught Don cheating on the both of them, but they quickly made up and now they both hate his guts. Bella with the help of the grim reaper phone is back to being with her husband and family who love her and Don is hated by most of Pleasantview now. One of my legacy sims is dating Alexander and I don't know what I'll do with Cassandra.

This is making me want to restart my megahood and play it all according to a prearranged storyline! I never really thought much about what might have happened before I started playing, I've just taken them at face value.

But on a more serious note...
I've always thought of it as Bella being bored of her life with Mortimer, in a sims game (I think the psp one? I can't remember) she states that she only married him for his money but I think when Don tried to flirt with her she realized it was too hard to get out of a long marriage (I mean c'mon they've been together for 20 or so years and have two children!). I often wonder what Nina and Dina's alien heritage has to do with it because as far as I was concerned they didn't know their alien side of the family at all, but it does seem weird they happened to appear on the eve of her disappearance, and that she was abducted by aliens - so it might make sense that they did use their alien heritage to get rid of her... but really to some extent I think she was just abducted like normal and realized that that was her queue to escape without upsetting Mortimer and their children as much as it would be to divorce and marry Don. Don is just with Cassandra to marry into the family because they're rich and he just can't help himself with the ladies. I don't really think it was much to do with Bella, she was just 'the one that got away'.

Also wow I just checked the Wiki and she's a romance sim. I always thought she was either Knowledge, Popularity or family. Interesting...

I actually have a headcanon for this.

I like to imagine that Bella, while perhaps having loved Mortimer since childhood, had a difficult time remaining faithful to him. Despite this, she did everything in her power to ensure her marriage to Mortimer wasn't endangered by "little secrets".

But, I also like to imagine that, instead of having had an affair with Don Lothario, Bella Goth was seen scaling the walls of his condo because she was trying to break in to his house. It just so happened that Don, out of pure coincidence of course, had serious dirt on her. The two were antagonistic towards each other in a hilarious and competitive way. Bella was scaling his apartment (while he unknowingly lounged in the hot tub with a guest) to steal back the evidence when a spaceship descended. It just so happened that at that exact moment, a team of alien scientists performing illegal experiments were searching for a proper sentient subject. They whisked her away. It was all very unfortunate. Some years later, the operation was finally discovered, disbanded, and its scientists imprisoned, while their unlucky test subject, Bella Goth, was returned to Earth and later institutionalized.

Yes. I would really like Bella Goth as a patient for my upcoming asylum challenge.
