.PACKAGE File Type Icon
Tired of seeing a blank document icon where a nifty .PACKAGE icon should be? Then I've got the solution for you!

Introducing my brand new icon just for the custom content .PACKAGE files all of us Sim addicts love.

More details here.

Enjoy!

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. >.< I wasn't sure where else it could go. It is a download... But not for the game...

Edit:

Installation Guides

Windows 7/Vista
Windows XP/2000/98

I didn't bother searching how to change icons in any version earlier than Windows 98 because it seems unlikely that a computer using anything before that has the capacity to run TS2...

the image is actually suitable for a package file, although the problem is that if you try to open the package with something else, it still changes the icon, so im not sure i your upload would keep it as it is.

and by the way you should've had uploaded it in the downloads section, although im not sure in which category. dont forget to mention how to install it.

I don't see why the icon would change. The icon is associated with the file type extension and when you make the change (in Windows) it affects all the files with that extension.

Again, I didn't add it to the downloads section because it didn't seem to fit anywhere. It's not an in-game item (so scratch all the content categories including miscellaneous) and it's not a program or utility. It felt to be a safer bet to add it to a general discussion--but still related to the game-- area.

As for install... I'll edit the original post.

When I downloaded Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer, the icon changed to a little printer-esque thing.

That's adorable. I love it.

Of course, all my .package files have the SimPE icon. I wonder which would win out.

@5M0K3: If you apply the icon again, after installing Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer, it should work again.

@Tempscire: Teehee... I think so too.
At the moment I am unfortunately not tech savvy enough to know how to create or edit things so I don't have SimPE...
I think if you change the icon with Windows, it should stick. I don't see why it wouldn't... But then again it is Windows...
