Chapter 13 - First Day

-----Dirk Dreamer’s House, Present Time-----

"Dirk… Dirk," Sydney Evans wakes the owner of the said name. "Wake up. I have to talk to you."

Sydney Evans couldn't sleep. She's been up all night contemplating how her
moral compass ended up so maladjusted.

"Huh? Is it time to get packing already?” the boy responds, rubbing his
eyes and slowly gaining his conscience. "Is Marshall up yet?"

"No, not yet."

"Hey, about last night…" Dirk starts.

"Look, it was just a kiss. And that’s I wanted to talk to you about." She pauses.
"I didn't seduce you because your girlfriend and hate each other. As much
as I dislike her, she was the first good friend I made here.”

She continues anxiously, "I’ve kind of have this thing for you for a while now
actually. But it was even before you and Lilith started going out or anything."

Dirk makes an attempt to think of a clever response but only came up with, "Oh."

-----Three Years ago on Account of Presence-----

"Ugh I hate first days of school. It's still feels like summer!" said Lilith Pleasant,
"Good thing we go to the same school now. I finally get to hang out with a good friend
instead of these fake people. There are a lot here at Pleasnatview.

Lilith walked her friend to class, "It must suck to leave Bluewater. I love that town."

"Yeah," said Sydney Evans, smiling, "Remember when your aunt used to have
her little get-togethers? We used to hide Lucy in her little toy box"

A loud buzz screeched over the loud speakers, causing many students to cover their ears.

"Well, good luck on your first day here, Syd. Off to Algebra I go," Lilith
Pleasant sighed, as she walked her friend to her first day at school.

"Alright smartypants of Pleasantview High, welcome to Advance Placement Biology,
your first class of the year. Are we excited? My name is Mr. Williams," screamed
the teacher as his class enthusiastically settled in, "Oh no, don’t sit down yet boys
and girls. You’re to be seated in alphabetical order."

The kids groaned.

"Anderson, Gina" Mr. Williams pointed at the front seat while reading the roster.

"Clein, Catalina"

"Dreamer, Dirk"

"Evans, Sydney"

Mr. Williams continues to call out names as Sydney walked over to her
assigned seat and was greeted the boy apparently named Dirk Dreamer.

"Hey," he greeted.

"Hey there." she replied.

"You new to town? I haven’t seen you around before."

"Yep, I just moved in from Bluewater Village," says Sydney. She continues as the boy
seemed to be waiting for her to say something more. "Mom couldn’t afford the mortgage
after dad left so here I am. What’s your story, mister cool guy?"

"Let’s see. Born and raised here in Pleasantview. Dad is a
struggling artist and mom passed away a year ago."

Sydney giggled as she waits for the boy’s punch line.

"Oh, you’re serious." She finally says, awkwardly realizing Dirk wasn’t laughing with
her, "I thought you were kidding around to make me feel better about my situation."

Dirk cracked a smile, "Don’t worry about it. You’re pretty cool. Would you
like to meet up for lunch? I’ll introduce you to some of my buddies."

"Oh thank god. I thought I was going to have to eat by myself in the bathroom stall," Sydney joked.

The boy looked at her confused.

"I’m kidding! I'm not one of those cliche, fish-out-of-water new girl." she laughed, "Can I bring my friend Lilith?"

"Lilith Pleasant? You know her?" Dirk asked her, suddenly interested.

"Yeah, her aunt Jennifer is my mom’s bestfriend."

“That’s great. Bring her along,” He gives her a smile.

-----After First Period-----

"Hey. You’ll never guess who invited me to lunch with him," Sydney
caught up with Lilith after first period, "Dirk Dreamer."

"No effing way! Are you serious? I’ve had a crush on Dirk ever since fifth grade!"

"Oh," Sydney let out a sigh followed by a smile.

Ahh. I've finally finished this chapter. It's really long, I know. I was just a bit discouraged because
of the whole classroom scene (apparently, I'm no expert at controlling lots of sims at once).
But I'll be updating the story a lot often now. Please bare with me. The story will get better
