Do you find the EA career choices far too limiting for your Medieval Sims? I know I do -- which is why I'm making Medieval themed career mods!
This is a rabbit hole career, not an Active or Work from Home profession (although I would like to include those features in the future). Let's break the career down:
PAGE (Part-Time, Children-Teens)
In order to become a Knight, one must first train as a Page. Starting during the early years of youth, a Page begins training under nobles and tradesfolk. You will learn to read and write, clean, and serve your Knight mentors. Skills in hunting, equestrian care, and swordsmanship are taught to older Pages in their teen years. You will eventually become an assistant to Knights in battle, carrying and cleaning their armor, and accompanying them on expeditions.
Levels
Level 1 - Meal Server
Some noble has taken you in, deciding you might some day be worthy of training for the Knighthood. Lucky for them, they just gained a loyal servant. Unfortunately, that means you have your work cut out for you. Hop to it, little Page!
Pay: 1/hr
Days per week: Every day
Shift: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Objectives: Clean Dishes 3 Times
Level 2 - Armor Polisher
As a Page, your liege will teach you all about proper armor care and upkeep. You may need to take some trips to the Blacksmith for the Knight's repairs and fittings, but carrying all those heavy items of metal is sure to build your strength!
Pay: 2/hr
Days per week: Every day
Shift: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Objectives: Be Friendly to 5 Sims, Throw Away Trash
Level 3 - Horse Groomer
You spend much of your time in the stables cleaning up after, grooming, and befriending the horses. Some day one of these magnificent steeds could be yours to ride into battle!
Pay: 3/hr
Days per week: Every day
Shift: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Objectives: Get Confident
Level 4 - Academic
The folks at the church decided it's time for you to learn to read and write. You will compile journals, read the accounts of past Knights in the Order, and begin to understand battle strategies from worldly maps in the archives.
Pay: 4/hr
Days per week: Every day
Shift: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Objectives: Finish Homework 3 Times, Level Up Writing Skill, Finish Reading 3 Books
Level 5 - Squire in Training
You have mastered all the skills and etiquette required of a Page. When you come of age, you will advance to the position of the Squire and your duties will more than double, though the reward will make up for the extra work.
Pay: 5/hr
Days per week: M-Sat
Shift: 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Objectives: Play 3 Games of Chess, Level Up Fitness (Motor) Skill
**Much research went into this career to make it era appropriate. Descriptions, objectives, pay rates and shifts are meant to reflect historical accuracy.
