DescriptionThis is a collection of many small mods related to motives of Sims in general, compiled into multiple independent modules and a single convenient download.
Useful changes are more easily customized motive decay rates, much less spammy whining, no halved Bladder for newly moved in, visitors, and partygoers, and Sims sticking to most object interactions for longer if they have higher Aspiration bars.
These mods may take time till they bear results, use with patience and long-term goals in mind.
FeaturesSummary
- Motive decay rates compiled into easy-to-edit BCONs, with children able to stay awake for longer
- Sims no longer whine as much on low motives, and will not interrupt their queued interactions to whine. They are more likely to cater to their needs without or after whining, instead of keeping on whining!

- Half-bar starting Bladder eliminated from all visitors, party guests, and newly moved-in or summoned Sims

- Sims with higher Aspiration bars will need lower motives before quitting most interactions, such as watching TVs or reading skill books.
- Cancelable and rebalanced motive losses on heatstroke and being frozen
- Passing out Fear and memory upon heatstroke or being frozen
- Job & school motive decay rates vary by personality.
- Job & school motive decay rates can reapply after reloading a household.
- Mood-based whining - nicer Sims can "mean whine" on low mood and mean Sims can "normal whine" on good mood.

_AspBasedQuitting
- Useful
- Sims will stay performing most "fun" and "skill-building" interactions for longer if they have high Aspiration bars.
- This works by lowering the motive thresholds for them to quit.
- Most noticeable with Sims watching a TV - Sims on low green will quit at half Hunger, while Sims on platinum will not do so.
_DecayRates
- Useful
- Motive decay rates for all ages have been compiled into a single BCON, for easier customization.
- Choose 1 out of 3 configurations
- Default version makes personality variation larger, with slightly slower Bladder loss, and most importantly, children can stay awake for longer, especially active ones.
- Hungrier Youth version is more challenging as younger Sims get hungry faster - they're growing up fast, you know!
- Maxis Match version is largely useless, and meant more as a version you can plan out and customize to your own designs.
- Less punishing motive decay for pregnant Sims
- More motives are affected by seasons.
- Spring slows Comfort loss, but quickens Fun and Social losses.
- Summer slows Energy and Bladder losses, but quickens Hygiene loss.
- Autumn slows Fun and Social losses.
- Winter slows Hygiene loss, but quickens Hunger and Bladder losses.
_HeatstrokeFreeze_Cancelable
- Minor
- Sims can be directed to wake up from being frozen or heatstroke, provided they have undergone it for an hour.
- The duration can be further reduced by high Body skill, high fitness for heatstroke, and high fatness for being frozen.

- Sims will no longer wake up on their own by nighttime for heatstroke, or daytime for being frozen.
- Starving Sims will wake up on their own almost immediately.
- Minor
- Heatstroke and being frozen use their own motive penalties.
- Heatstroke drains Hygiene but restores Bladder, while being frozen drains Bladder but restores Hygiene.

- Sims can no longer directly die from starvation upon heatstroke or being frozen, and Hunger penalty is less severe.
- Passing out from either now fulfills the "Pass Out" Fear.
- If my Array Object is in use, then Sims will also gain the "Passed Out" memory as well.
_JobSchool_Reapply
- Minor
- Normally, when exiting and reloading a household, Sims at work or school lose the decay rates set by their job level or school type, and use the more punishing
"at home" rates instead. - This module reapplies the decay rates at work or school after some time, usually an hour or so.
- Most useful with pregnant Sims at work
- Minor
- This module allows personality to factor in determining the motive decay rates at work or school.
- For example, active Sims will lose less Energy while sloppy Sims will lose more Hygiene. Whereas without this module, everyone loses motives at equal rate.
- Largely useless without modifying the work and school decay rates to actually matter, like I have!
_OnSpawned_Resident
- Useful
- Sims who have just moved in, been reset or summoned by a cheat object no longer start out with the half-bar Bladder.
- Useful
- Party guests arrive at near-full Bladder.
- Their starting motives have been rearranged to better prioritize eating and socializing.
- Variety for each party type - guests are hungrier and more willing to have fun on birthday parties, more willing to socialize on normal parties, and more reserved on anniversary and weddings.
- Minor
- Invited guests, passers-by and community lot visitors are loaded in with near-full Bladder.
- Their starting motives have been rearranged, with motives such as Comfort and Energy may start out low enough to actually matter.
- Invited guests and passers-by are more inclined towards socializing.
- Community lot visitors are equally inclined towards having fun and socializing.
- Most will still prefer to find something to eat as before.
_Whining_MoodBased
- Minor
- Sims with 4 to 7 nice points may do the "mean" whining animation if their mood is low, with nicer Sims doing so deeper in the the red.
- Sims with 3 nice points may do the "normal" whining animation if their mood is in high green, instead of always whining "meanly".
- Can indicate how many motives are low, but more useful for having more Sims whine meanly.

- Useful
- Restrain whining, eliminating queue interruption and the whining loop
- Sims will no longer interrupt their interaction queues to complain.

- Sims with no directives are more likely to head towards replenishing themselves, without or after whining.
- Does not affect toddlers.
- Without this module, Sims on multiple low motives will be too busy whining to actually cater to themselves...
Options_DecayRates module is provided in 3 possible configurations, use only 1 of them.
_DecayRates also have supporting modules in form of SubAgeCheck, which are the same those provided in my Rebalanced Vampire Motive Decay Rates - _InTeenTeen makes teens use "Young Adult" rates if they have 7 or less days till adulthood; _MiddleAgedAdult makes adults use "Aged Adult" rates if their total days left to elderhood are less than half.
IssuesSims will reset upon installing any of the _DecayRates modules, and likely the _OnSpawned_Visitor module.
Sims will not reset upon changing the values in the BCON of _DecayRates once installed, however.
Very rarely, invited guests may start out with too low motives and leave immediately. Try to edit the BCON and raise the lower values, otherwise.

About Me
Mod update logs can be found on the main pages for mods updated from December 2025 onwards. Otherwise, they are always in the comment sections. Bold line indicates an important fix or a big feature. Some updates may be stated to be non-essential.
I prefer to modify and expand upon other people's contents, since I'm no artist. I will ask content creators still active first, but I'd love if they actually ask me to help out. I also like mods and objects that add more to gameplay (and modify them to add even more!) since everybody else has been making fixes.
