Title: Five "Life Changing" Seasons Wells + Roofless
July 19, 2015: Fertility Well Premature Aging Fix
Thanks to child_of_air's report, this release fixes a premature aging bug that would result in those who became pregnant after drinking from the well to age up until just five days from becoming an elder. Please install the contents of sdWishingWellSsn_Custom.zip to implement this update.
Purpose
Inspired by Plumb Bob Keep's The Four Humours theme, to produce the following variants of the Seasons Wishing Well -
1) Plague Well to actively promote the spread of a contagious "mysterious disease" and influenza by infecting those who drink from it or who stand within six tiles of the well.
2) Cursed Well to poison a Sim who drinks from it, terminate pregnancy, and produce bad outcomes to wishes.
3) Healing Well to clean, comfort and heal any Sim who drinks from it or to heal a Sim who stands within six tiles of the well.
4) Fertility Well to boost energy and enable the selected Sim to become pregnant with an NPC archetype (such as the Grim Reaper), another available Sim, or her/himself (cloning). Once pregnant, Sims can induce twins or accelerate pregnancy. (Nonsexual reproduction is particularly useful for those using arranged marriages in their games.) As an option, a Sim can simply wish a baby into existence, avoiding pregnancy altogether. The Fertility Wells also offer a "Rename Sim" feature to change the name of any Sim or pet who is selectable.
5) Ambrosial Well to nourish, comfort, clean, heal and bring eternal life to the chosen ones, but immediately destroy the unworthy.
I have also supplied roofless versions for each of these wells, as well as the EA original, that include the bucket and winch components but not the roof. Each "life changing" well also comes with at least one optional memory file.
These wells are slaved to EA's original, so all well recolours such as my 70+ Tiny Fizesize Seasons Wishing Well Recolours will work with these objects. The well recolours shown in the screenshots are available at Plumb Bob Keep or here.

General Description
The new wells are slaved to the original EA Wishing Well and use all the recolours that are available for it.
The Fertility Wells come in Teen & Elder Support variants for those using an alternate pregnancy controller. But note that even without other hacks, teens can have their own genetically related babies by wishing for them at any of the Fertility Wells - as can elders, servos and zombies.
All thirteen wells are available in sdWishingWellSsn_Custom.zip, along with their associated memory files. Note that, unlike the original EA well, making a wish at a particular "life changing" well does not lock out making wishes at any other well that may be on the same lot.
Terms of Use
You may include any of the new wells and memories in uploaded lots, whether for free or pay.
I would encourage you to please include the associated memory files when uploading a particular well with a lot. Note that each of the wells has one custom memory, except that an Ambrosial Well uses up to three memories, a Cursed Well has two memories, and the Less is More Roofless Wishing Well has none. In the case of the Ambrosial Well, it uses the Healing Well's "Healed!" memory, as well as two of its own. But having said all this, note that the memory files are completely optional and not required for proper operation of the objects.
When uploading any of this content, please include a credit and link to this page. It would be nice if you sent me a PM with a link to your uploaded creation, but that is not necessary.
Polygon Count for the Roofless Wells
2052 faces, 1710 vertices (the EA roofed well has 2208 faces & 1950 vertices)

April 14, 2015: Smaller Size & Improved Foreign Support
When I designed this project I included some international language support. Unfortunately, non-English language users experienced incorrect labeling and erratic menu operation because of this. My appreciation goes to Alraris for alerting me to these issues. This release is intentionally unilingual, reducing filesizes by up to 50%, which is of benefit to all users. Please install the contents of sdWishingWellSsn_Custom.zip to upgrade.
January 23, 2013: Small Bugfix to the Cursed Wells
This minor update to the Cursed Wells eliminates a jump bug associated with pregnant Sims who have left the lot before a miscarriage occurs. Actually I'm not sure this would ever occur during regular game play - I found it by using MoveObjects On to delete a Sim while I was running some tests.
September 13, 2012: Small Bugfix to the Fertility Wells
In accordance with the "Disable Fertility Features"/"Disable Vitality Features" menu selection, Renaming is now disabled when the well is "switched off".
September 12, 2012: Major Upgrades to the Fertility Wells
This release upgrades the four Fertility Wells as follows:
1) Bigfoot, servos and zombies can now become pregnant at the wells. Although their children are genetically related, they appear normal.
2) To reduce the possibility of errors, all Sim selection menus now display the full name, listed by family.
3) When placed in Universal mode, Sims from throughout the neighbourhood can be renamed or selected as a second DNA source.
4) The Rename Sim feature now allows both the first and last name to be changed.
5) Rename Sim has been extended to work with both pets and dead Sims.
6) EA prevents Sims who are within about five days of becoming an elder from becoming pregnant. The Fertility Wells now ignore this limitation.
7) The Teen & Elder Support Wells now inform the player if custom pregnancy control (such as InSim) is not available.
8) Drinking from these wells will eliminate any stuck or garbage pregnancy controllers that might otherwise cause infertility.
9) Several minor enhancements and bugfixes are also included.

Less is More Roofless Wishing Well
If a Sim drinks from the Less is More Roofless Wishing Well, the results are the same as for the EA original - for example, regular Sims can cool off and PlantSims gain a strong boost to their Water requirements.
Like the EA well, the chance of a successful first wish for this well is 100%. In the case of the EA well, the chance of a successful wish drops rapidly with each wish made, so that at after five wishes all further wishes are sure to fail. The Less is More Roofless Wishing well has been reconfigured so that each wish drops the probability of success by 10%, so that not until the tenth wish does the probability drop to 0%. Note that if this well or the standard EA one is placed on a community lot, the chance of a successful first wish is always 100%, since the history of well usage is not saved when the lot is exited.
Covered & Roofless Plague Wells
These wells are intended to promote the spread of infectious disease throughout a neighbourhood. Sims who stand within about six tiles of a plague well are 95% likely to contract the "mysterious disease" over a period of only ten game minutes. Those who drink from the well will also be infected with the mysterious disease in the unlikely case that they have not already contracted it simply by being close to the well. Otherwise drinkers of well water will be infected with influenza (the flu).
Sims infected with the plague will gain a one-time "Caught the Plague!" memory.
The "mysterious disease" is actually the virus that can be manufactured or accidentally produced using the BioTech Station career reward, and the flu is normally a result of standing near roaches. Sims may recover from either infection if they have enough rest, or through cures such as Grandma's Comfort Soup or the Healing Well.
Sims will autonomously drink from the well if they are too hot or thirsty, or feeling dirty and uncomfortable. In addition to being infected, the Sim will suffer a sudden loss of comfort, hygiene (the Water need for PlantSims) and a temporary crash in mood. Players can disable the infectious properties of the well using a menu option.
As a wishing well, the Plague Well is a disaster. The success rate is only 10% for the first wish, dropping 1% with each additional use until it reaches 0% at the tenth wish. These wells are objects that sensible Sims should avoid like - well, the plague!
Covered & Roofless Cursed Wells
The Cursed Wells will give food poisoning to any Sim who drinks from them. Unlike the diseases that may be caught from the Plague Wells, the poisoning is completely non-contagious. A Sim may recover from the poisoning through rest, or by using any other curative method, including a Healing Well. But note that if a pregnant Sim drinks from the well, it is highly likely that the poison will cause a miscarriage.
Those who are poisoned will gain a one-time "Poisoned!" memory, and Sims who miscarry will gain a repeatable "Had a Miscarriage" memory.
Unfortunately for Sims, they may be spontaneously attracted to drinking from the poisoned well if they are feeling too hot, thirsty, or uncomfortable. Those who are poisoned immediately lose comfort, and also have temporary dip in Mood. But fortunately for Sims, the player may disable the poisoning features by using a menu option at any time.
As far as wishes go, the cursed wells perversely use a reversed probability curve to the one devised for the Less is More Roofless Wishing Well. The first wish has a 0% success rate so that it will always fail. Each wish thereafter increases the success rate by 10%, so that after nine wishes the success rate reaches 100%.
Covered & Roofless Healing Wells
Any ill Sim drinking from the well, or standing within about six tiles from the centre of the well will be cured of disease. Healing will occur for Sims standing near the well for ten game minutes or less, subject to a small (5%) chance of failure. The Healing Wells use an adaptation of the coding from Grandma's comfort soup to instantly cure any disease that a Sim may have. But unlike the Comfort Soup, the well will also cure morning sickness, but only if the Sim actually takes water from the well.
Each Sim who has been healed will have a unique "Healed!" memory.
Sims are attracted to drink from the well by their needs for cooling, for hygiene (water in the case of PlantSims), and for comfort. The wholesome nature of the water will completely restore a Sim's comfort and hygiene (the Water need for PlantSims), neutralize body temperature, as well as briefly maximizing Mood. The well's healing features may be disabled by a menu option if desired.
The Healing Wells use the same probability curve for wishes as described for the Less is More Roofless Wishing Well, above.
Covered & Roofless Fertility Wells
Inspired by the Tombstone of Life and Death, a Fertility Well can be used to impregnate the Sim who drinks from it with the "DNA" of any available Sim (including herself or himself) or with an NPC archetype such as the Alien (Pollination Technician). The thirty selected NPC archetypes were chosen from those who seemed interesting but would be difficult or impossible for a Sim to woohoo with during normal gameplay. Note that using the Fertility Well to impregnate a parent with the Ideal Plantsim will cause a standard pregnancy only - a toddler PlantSim needs to be spawned, not gestated.
These are the available NPC archetypes, selected from the Archetype sub-menus: Alien, Animal Control Officer, Big Boss, Bigfoot (BV), Bus Driver, Chef, Coach, College Cook, Evil Mascot, Father Time (Holiday), Firefighter, Genie (FT), Good Mascot, Grim Reaper, Hermit (BV), Ideal PlantSim, Mrs. CrumpleBottom, Nanny, Ninja (BV), Pirate Captain (BV), Police, Repo Man, Rod Humble (AL), Santa Claus (Holiday), Social Bunny, Social Worker, Spectral Assistant (AL), Therapist, Unsavory Charlatan (BV), Witch Doctor (BV). Several of these genetic sources are only available if you have the EP in which the NPC was introduced or any later EP (the minimum required EP, apart from Seasons, is indicated in parentheses). Note that the NPC will show up as a "parent" in the resulting offspring's family tree.
Any non-pregnant adult or young adult Sim, male or female - including a Bigfoot, servo or zombie - is considered "fertile" and may become pregnant after drinking from the well. Once a fertile Sim has finished drinking a "Make Me Pregnant with" menu option will appear for that Sim only. The "Make Me Pregnant with" option will remain available to that particular Sim until she or he either uses the option or another fertile Sim drinks from the well.
A Sim made pregnant by the well will gain a repeatable "Pregnant!" memory.
After drinking from a Fertility Well, pregnant Sims gain the menu option to "Have Twins" as well as to either "Accelerate Pregnancy" (on residential lots) or "Give Birth Now" (on non-residential lots). On residential lots, the "Accelerate" function causes all stages of pregnancy to be completed in less than four game hours. On non-residential lots, "Give Birth Now" causes the Sim to immediately enter the final trimester and then commence childbirth.
In the case of non-residential lots, please note that "Give Birth Now" is only available if the impregnation or conception occurred during the current visit to the lot - this option will be inaccessible during future visits. Also, you may be concerned that when a parent Sim leaves the non-residential lot the baby is left behind. However, when the Sim arrives home the baby will be found laying on the ground near the mailbox, none the worse for wear.
The Mode menu option allows the active Sim to enable the well in either a Local or Universal state. In Local mode, the selection of Sims as DNA sources and for Renaming is confined to the current lot; in Universal mode Sims from throughout the neighbourhood are available for selection. Note that the selection of archetypes as DNA sources remains the same in both Local and Universal modes.
Sims will drink from the well autonomously to relieve overheating, thirst in the case of PlantSims, and tiredness. All those who drink from an active well will maximize Energy (Power for Servos, Sunshine for PlantSims). Whereas for fertile Sims these are Fertility Wells, for non-fertile Sims they are simply "Vitality" wells. The fertility/vitality feature may be deactivated by selecting the "Disable" mode option.
Drinking from the well will also remove any garbage or glitched pregnancy controllers that may affect future fertility.
As an alternative to pregnancy, any teen, adult or elder Sim can simply "Wish For Baby with", and after navigating the menus a new child will appear in the Sim's arms. The baby will have genetics that combine the active Sim with an NPC archetype or any other available Sim, using a similar selection process to that described above.
Whether by pregnancy or wishing, both methods of having a baby will satisfy baby related wants and add the standard baby memories to non-archetypal Sim parents and grandparents (unlike the Tombstone of Life and Death).
With so many unusual genetic sources for creating a baby, you may find that the new child's full name is incomplete or not appropriate. For this reason the Fertility Wells also provide Rename Sim menu selections to change the first and last name of any available Sim or pet, young or old, dead or alive. Note that the EA dialogue box that enables this is cosmetically flawed, and you may find the text referring to a baby when you are actually changing the name of an adult Sim. Nonetheless the procedure is functionally reliable.
Unlike the three standard wishes, "Wish For Baby with" has unlimited use, with almost no chance of failure. In regards to the standard wishes - wealth, friendship and romance - Fertility Wells use the same probability curve as described for the Less is More Roofless Wishing Well, above.
Covered & Roofless Fertility Wells with Teen & Elder Support
The Teen & Elder Support Fertility Wells work identically to the standard Fertility Wells, except that they additionally allow teens and elders to become pregnant if the appropriate pregnancy hacks are available. For teen pregnancy Simbology's InTeenimater, Sim to Sim's Teen WooHoo/Pregnancy or BackAlleySims' Alternate Pregnancy Controllers are required. Elder pregnancy is also supported by the Alternate Pregnancy Controllers. It is pointless to install the Teen & Elder Support wells unless you are using one of these pregnancy hacks, and the wells will remind the player if the appropriate code is missing.
Covered & Roofless Ambrosial Wells
Ambrosia is the food and drink of the immortals. In the default or Blessing Mode, those who drink from Ambrosial Wells completely fulfill their needs for comfort, food (power in the case of Servos), and hygiene (water in the case of PlantSims). The blessed also achieve complete healing, and reset their ages back to the beginning of the current life stage.
But if the player so chooses, the default benefits can be overridden by menu selection, so that the Ambrosial Well acts as either an ordinary Neutral Well, or a Well of Damnation. In the Damnation Mode, drinkers lose comfort, food and hygiene points shortly before they are killed by lightning.
Those blessed by the well gain a unique "Drank Ambrosia" memory, and those who have been healed will have a unique "Healed!" memory (only if the Healing Well's "Healed" memory file is available). Sims who are struck dead will gain a repeatable "Killed!" memory - after all, death is not necessarily final when playing The Sims 2!
Sims will drink from the well autonomously to reduce heat, cleanse the body (take on water in the case of PlantSims), relieve hunger, and restore comfort. All of these needs will be completely satisfied, unless the player has chosen to convert the well to either its neutral or deadly mode.
Used as wishing wells, in Blessing Mode the Ambrosial Wells offer the highest success rates of all. At the first wish, there is a 100% chance of a good outcome. This probability reduces by 1% with each successive wish, until at the tenth wish the success rate is 90%.
In Damnation Mode the Ambrosial Wells use the same abysmal probability curve for successful wishes as the Plague Wells: only 10% for the first wish, dropping 1% with each additional use until it reaches 0% at the tenth wish.
If a Sim drinks from the Less is More Roofless Wishing Well, the results are the same as for the EA original - for example, regular Sims can cool off and PlantSims gain a strong boost to their Water requirements.

Technical Notes
The Roofless Wells
Although it is possible to create a recolour that makes the roof components of the well invisible, in practice using the alpha layer technique on this particular object causes vestigial lines to be displayed in the air above the well. In addition, the mesh for the vertical timbers supporting the roof of the wishing well are not closed off at the ends, making them unsuitable for roofless use. This object was remeshed to eliminate all roof components, as well as shortening and sealing off the ends of the vertical timbers.
Unfortunately, the need to maintain the water winching animations necessitated the use of the WesHowe UniMesh plugins for MilkShape which prevents the mesh from being completely remapped using the Wavefront OBJ format. To work around this, the vertical timbers had to be remapped separately, then recombined with the main mesh in Milkshape, remembering to reassign them to their original Joint when doing so. In short, this proved to be one of the most tedious meshing projects I have encountered so far.
