These paintings are from the Salon de Mars (Mars Room), in the Château de Versailles.
Each painting has 2 different frames. Some paintings have variations (several paintings in one object).
The set contains 5 objects :
- The Four Cardinal Virtues by Simon Vouet (1960§) - 1 channel - 4 variations (Temperance, Prudence, Justice and Strength) - 1 story
- King David playing the harp by Domenichino (4110§) - 1 channel - 2 story
- King Louis XV and Queen Marie Leszczynska by Carle Van Loo (5370§) - 1 channel - 2 variations (King Louis XV and Queen Marie Leszczynska) - 2 story
- Supper at Emmaus by Veronese (13180§) - 1 channel - 2 story
- The Queens of Persia at the Feet of Alexander by Charles Le Brun (13530§) - 1 channel - 2 story
