Greetings Simmers!

I've been coming back to some of my longtime projects lately (you know, those "I'll finish it someday" lots). Well, this is one of them, and its finally complete!

Bienvenidos to La Villa del Sol, a spawling Spanish villa for your simmies to live in!

Highlights:
  • 4 bedrooms (master bedroom, two kids bedrooms, and a nursery)
  • 4.5 bathrooms
  • space for 3 cars (one in the garage and the other two in the driveway)
  • swimming pool
  • hot tub
  • 3 fireplaces
  • a fishable pond
  • a game room with a pool table
This lot has been playtested. So, a couple of quick things about that:

1) The driveway works, in spite of the gates and fencing. It looks a little odd when your sim drives through the fence as if it were a ghost fence (oooh, spooky!), but its fully functional. You can knock out that fencing if it bothers you, of course. I don't know why some recolors didn't show up on my custom content list, but I'm using an invisible driveway recolor by Roddyaleixo

2) The game room was originally going to be a second garage, and its still the right size if you want to convert it. You know, in case your sims need all the cars.

3) I don't use gardening mods, so I'm careful to make sure the gardening is reasonable. In spite of how lush this looks, there is actually very little gardening maintenance required, and everything that needs care is accessible to your sims. All of the inaccessible flowers are "plastic" and require no watering or tending of any kind.

4) This lot was designed to work in either grass terrain neighborhoods or desert terrain neighborhoods. One of my screenshots shows it in strangetown (their water bill to maintain that lawn is astronomical!).

5) This is a large lot with a lot of stuff in it. Slower computers will have trouble with it.

6) The game determines the front door by whatever is closest to the street (or the mailbox perhaps?), and sadly there's nothing I can do about that. Your newspapers, guests, and deliveries will all show up at the game room doors instead of the front entrance. You can replace those doors with windows if you want to force sims to go to the correct door.

Lets take a tour!

Most of the house is located on the ground floor. From the front drive, sims can enter through the main entrance, the two french doors leading to the game room, or through a small side entrance between the garage and the nursery.

Each of the bedrooms has its own bathroom. The master bathroom and the two children's bathrooms are private; the nursery bathroom can be entered through the nursery or the hallway. There is also a half bath next to the staircase. The shower in the master bathroom is off in its own little room so that spouses won't get angry when the toilet is flushed, but the open archway gives the appearance of still being part of the main bathroom. All of the bathrooms are shown with a CC toilet paper roll that I have not included in this lot.

The nursery is decorated purple and pink with a teddy bear theme.

I was thinking of Hemmingway when I decorated the office. Its full of warm woods, hunting trophies, artifacts, and cozy leather chairs.

The game room, as I mentioned, was originally going to be a second garage. But my sims don't need that many cars, so instead they get a pool table, dart board, flatscreen tv and video game console!

The great room has the coolest fireplace I've ever made, as well as bookshelves, a chess set, a piano, and an espresso machine. This is a room for relaxing in, and would be a great place to put a christmas tree in the wintertime. This room also has three empty shelves for you to put vacation mementos and such; one shelf is above the piano, and the other two are above the bookcases. Please note: the three-tile camelback couch shown in the photos is not included because I edited my copy of this CC to suit my own tastes. I uploaded the lot with the maxis two-tile couch in its place, and have posted a link below if you want to get the CC couch shown.

The kitchen and dining room are attached. La Villa del Sol has a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious dining area, a buffet table, and a juice bar.

The master bedroom is located conveniently close to the nursery so parents won't have to go far in the middle of the night. There is a decorative balcony opening up over the pool, and a private side balcony with a small outdoor fireplace.

On the second floor, the upstairs landing has another decorative balcony opening up to the side yard. There is a radio, a phone, and a wardrobe with mirror on the landing. The two children's bedrooms are accessed here. The boy's room is decorated in a red racecar theme, and includes a hamster cage. The girl's room is decorated with a yellow and purple garden theme, and has a window flowerbox that does not require watering.

The great room and the dining room both have french doors opening up onto the back porch. The back porch has a poolside lounge area with radio, an outdoor fireplace, and a barbeque.

The swimming pool's central feature is a large fountain. Next to the pool is a hot tub and lounge area under a flowering trellis cover. In the back corner is a secluded fishable pond. The pond area has a hammock and bench.

And that's about it! I hope you enjoy this new home. Happy Simming!

Roddyaleixo's Invisible Driveway

GiveTheNineARide's Adirondack Recolors

Michelle's Conspicuous Views Window Recolor (I think this is the lot I was working on when I requested this recolor from her -- so special thanks to her for doing it!)

Michelle's Lafenetre Window Recolors

Custom Content Not Included:

Sims99Fanatic's Camelback Sofa. I edited my copy to have a different price and description so its not included, but here's where you can get the original.

The Sims 2 Store Calla Lily Bouquet. Sims 2 Store objects can no longer be purchased, but they are available at the Sims2Graveyard.com. This bouquet is shown in the master bedroom photos.

...and a roll of toilet paper that I didn't make and can't remember where I got it, so I didn't include it. Sorry guys, there's five bathrooms and not one of them actually has any toilet paper.
