Thanks for replying d4RE. I was thinking mainly of the concrete stairs that came with the game "Almost Indestructible" $65. Those are the ones I usually use outside for big official buildings. I've tried to get the effect I'm thinking of by extending the foundation out beside the stairs and then sloping it downward to follow the descent of the stairs, but obviously that only works with foundations that are more than four clicks high. And because the foundation piece is a whole square in width, that's too wide to really create the effect I'm after unless the staircase is five or six wide. And it doesn't flare out at the bottom in any sort of fancy-shmancy way either, so it's really not the greatest method. However, that's what I've done on a few of my buildings, just to create a sense of an entrance that befits a big, monumental edifice. I think if the railing was about the same width as some of those big, fat fences that hang over the edge of the deck, that would probably be about right. (I just sped through Google Images, but couldn't find anything even remotely like what I'm thinking of, which baffles me. I know I've seen this before!)

Anyway, I'm sure you get the idea. If you do end up creating something like this, please upload it here on MTS!! I'd love to see it, and I'm sure my sims would be thrilled.

Okay, I thought of a new one. This is the wave of the future, you guys: Virtual Reality Sims. So you can walk around in the fabulous mansion you just built! All the VR games my son ever talks about are ones where everybody is trying to murder as many people as they can. I'm sure there's more potential there than just doing that.

After playing Sims 1 and thinking it was the be-all and end-all of cool . . . and then getting Sims 2 and having my poor naive head blown off by how much more sophisticated it was than it's predecessor, I remember discussing with my daughter about what Sims 3 would look like when they got that far. Or Sims 4! Gulp! She said, "They'll probably be holograms, walking around the house with us by then!" Um, apparently not.

I actually have a household that i placed a sim and a bunch of "employees" in. I cheated up the money so he could afford any lot, and hire the "family" to work there. He can buy the community lots, set them to the OFB settings I want, and then (depending on my needs) either sell the lot back to the community or just keep it as an owned lot.

One thing i CANT stand is that "micro-mall" lot they gave us. The set-up is so awful. My sim goes into the clothing shop, picks out some clothes, and then walks all the way across the mall to the cash register in the robotics shop to pay for it at THAT cashier. All the other cashiers sit there with 4 fingers up their butts, whistling dixie, as another patron buys some flowers and walks all the way over to the robotics shop to stand in line and get pissed off that it's taking too long. There's like 5 other cash registers!! UGH!

Therefore, the mod i'd like to see would be to allow boutique shop ownership. I suppose it'd rely on similar principles to Apartments. Other tenants take care of their own businesses, and your active playables take care of their little business. Now that would've been helpful for a shopping district, like malls and boardwalks... Fact is, it takes a LOT of employees to run a restaurant. You simply can't run other shops at the same time.

I wouldn't mind seeing something similar to the Desk Locator, except to tell the newspaper carrier where to drop off the newspaper. On some lots it just gets dumped at the edge of the lot.

This happens in most of my Veronaville lots and it drives me nuts!! Same with houses with a back porch (I don't know what the actual name is). Instead of delivering to the front door, they deliver it to the back!

More random ideas:

- Similar to Crisp&Kerosene's coworkers directory, a hobby club directory listing all Sims who have gotten the membership cards for the various hobby lots.
- A hack that makes the motive drain for pregnant Sims a bit slower (though not the same as non-pregnant Sims - maybe halfway between the two).
- Pets age at 6pm, like other Sims.

Pets age at 6pm is doable.

It's supposed to be something about the last door placed is viewed as the front door. On one lot I got so sick of the paper being delivered to the very back that I fenced off the whole place. Now you can only deliver it to the front, muhahaha. XD

Unless the lot is an apartment the front door is the door with both an indoor tile and outdoor tile that is closest to the Letter Box, if no Letter Box then Rubbish Bin, if no Bin then Public Phone Booth, if none of those exist then the door can't found. In calculating the distance it multiplies the result by 50 for each level so if there is no outside door at ground level then it can use a door on higher floors.
That means moving the Letter Box can change which door is recognised as front door.

Pescado's frontdoorhack helps delivery sims find the front door of your house. I don't know whether it would help at all with newspapers. The paper kid seems awfully dumb even with that hack in my game and still sometimes leaves the paper by the visitor portal.

With this mod pets age at 6 PM instead of at 11 AM.
It's actually a petslifespan, but I didn't change the days within a lifespan. I only changed the hour from 11 AM to 6 PM.
This means that pets still have the same lifespan and that it will conflict with other mods that change the petslifespan (like my project realistic ages)

On a side note, virtually reality is coming to The Sims Mobile.

Not a hack (though If it will it could come as a testingcheat object/interaction) but I was thinking it is about time you could modify exact age span of a sim in CAS. Like define who's younger/middle/older child of the family by chose, rather how in TS3 it randomizes the life span meter of each member in the household.

I would love a hack where, when you place multiple wall-mounted objects by holding down the SHIFT key, the next sprite would spawn at the same height as the one you just placed, instead of at the default height of the object.

I'd like to have a hack, so that Lamare's Young adullts can enjoy maternity hack and syberpunk's Risky Woohoo Hack work in conjunction with each other or at least a tutorial on how to add the Risky Woohoo option on Young Adults. If anyone knows how, I'd love to receive a suggestion.

(More) custom decorative food which is the ingredients from the foods available in the game and/or some of the custom foods which are available. Or, alternatively, custom foods which are "made from" some of the CC decorative food which is available for download for TS2.

For example, pacatacoplayer made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I have found decorative bread and jam, so I just need decorative peanut butter to have decorative ingredients for the meal! :-)

And then I just need to repeat that for every single EAxis and CC food that I have/would like to have in my game...... :-D
