Default missing mootilda
I know she has been gone, but I miss her input and wish she could be with us. Just wishful thinking. We all miss you. Thank you for everything you have done for us. I know I am late in saying this, but I hope beter late than never.

I didn't even know she was gone 'til last week or so. Tragic. Definitely one of *the* most active members; whenever I googled something problematic and wound up in a Help section thread, Mootilda was there.
Her being here gave so much more than her being gone could ever take away. ❤️

Yeah I know. I hope she is in peace. I saw when it was posted that she had passed, but hope I can still find her help. She was a god send.

I think we just have to honor her memory by downloading her things and using her help whenever we can. Make her immortal, if only in these circles.

I frequently thank her in my heart for the great tools and downloads she gave us whenever I use them, and how she was patient with so many of us and willing to help. I still miss her.

Thanks to ALL free-site creators, admins and mods.

I miss her every time I run into a weirdass problem and think: "Mootilda could figure this out..."

I remember reading posts of her and always secretly hoping she would answer one of my questions directly, even though her answers always solved my problems. She devoted a lot of time towards making this game better than ever, Sims 2 has never been the same since.
EA never knew the fan they had in her.

May she rest in God's Care.

I wasn't aware of Mootilda's passing until right now

May she rest in peace.

Yes! With the exact image of "her" cow. I don't know where she found it (or perhaps she created it herself..wouldn't surprise me at all) but it is the singularly striking thing about Mootilda's presence on MTS. That avatar is just her in all aspects. I even saved a copy of it, because I do miss her sometimes.

I've created something small in her honor but I never quite knew when was the right time to share it, but here's a picture of it since you brought her up (and the subject of honoring her); Mooing Meadows:

marka93 made MooVille in her honour, and, what's more, shared it within a few days of her death.

Like many here I still greatly miss mootilda and her expertise. I keep thinking of things I'd like to ask her. Her in depth knowledge of The Sims 2 was unmatched, and she showed such kindness and patience too. I wish someone would take on some of her projects, but I can readily understand that people may feel unable or unworthy to fill her shoes.

Any of you who haven't already done so, may wish to add your comments to what has effectively become her tribute thread.

Up to this day, I still sigh whenever I see that little cow avatar looking at me when I wipe the dust off of old threads around here looking for useful information that solves my problems.

Long live HoodChecker and all the other programs, downloads and tutorials made by Mootilda.

I clicked over to Mooville and want it. The instructions say to just put it in downloads. Does that sound right?

It's a neighborhood, so put it into your neighborhood folder.

I have to wonder what possessed her to make a cow her avatar. She was the exact opposite of a cow mascot; never burped in anybody's face or made unwanted advances, and everybody was glad to see her.

Somewhere on this site (I think it's somewhere under General Discussion) there's a thread about people's user names, and I remember mootilda explaining about her user name and possibly her avatar. Like most of us she chose her user name when she first registered. I think she later regretted it a little, but by then she was far too well known to change it. She probably chose the avatar to match her user name. Anyway the cow in mootilda's avatar is cute and friendly -- not in the least like the cow mascots. I don't know what Maxis have against cows, but, what with cowplants and cow mascots, someone who worked on University clearly didn't like them. Maybe he (she?) once got chased by one.

I'll see if I can find that thread.

[EDIT] I've found the thread I mentioned. It's here. mootilda's post is #14.

She certainly did break those stereotypes/norms associated with cows in the Sims.

I don't know what a 'gateway cow' is, but I'm glad she broke EA's view of cows. The cow mascot is probably in the top five most disliked sims 2 characters, but Mootilda made the cow lovable.

If anyone wants to memorialize Mootilda in their game, here's what I've done:

You capture her avatar, using "Save as".
It is of course, a JPEG picture, so you can put it directly into your game (presuming you have NL or higher) and as a 'custom picture' for sims who have the ability, to paint.
It's already cropped and ready to use.

It's a nice way to remember her, I think.

A few years ago Gateway was a major PC manufacturer. They used an irregular black and white pattern reminiscent of a Friesian cow on the packaging, manuals, etc. And they must have put a picture of a cow called Mootilda on their computers. When our mootilda wanted a unique user name to register here at MTS, she simply took the name of that cow on her computer. At that time she wasn't thinking of sharing any creations or even of posting on the forums. She just needed a unique name to register. I'm sure she never imagined that she'd become the world's leading authority on all things pertaining to the Sims 2!

I really miss Mootilda when someone posts a question at the SimPE site. Sometimes it's one I can figure out the answer to, or at least ask the right question for the OP to answer it, but there have been other times when I look at the question and it's something I know that Mootilda could answer. I used to just fire off a PM to her linking the question at the SimPE site, and she was always able to help.

Mootilda died? That's saddening. Whenever I saw her username in a thread, I felt comfort in knowing that someone as knowledgeable as her was helping out.

Not that you can hear or read this Mootilda, but I thank you for all your help and support over the years and hope your soul rests in a better place.

No-one I think - fortunately for us, she had updated it for the full game long before we lost her. And updated it cleverly to be adaptable (so users of the UC are able to use it and it works well in W10 apparently). I'm not surprised, given her skills, she was able to make it future-proof as far as possible.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
