Depending on what templated you are using, I've found that sometimes a certain inherited nose shape will be much larger on males then females, or vice-versa. Does he have any siblings?

Yes he does. His sister has a ordinary nose. I used template face #2 (my favorite) when putting Mom through the CAS. I have no idea where Dad came from. One of those game generated townies.

But it's weird, too..Arundel has a huge number of redheads. Even when the parents aren't red heads the kids are. It'll take generations for that gene to be mutated out.

I have the same thing in my hood, except it's blondes. There are way more of those than any other colour. I was putting blondes with redheads for a while hoping to get some gingers in the mix, but nope. All blonde. Same with my townies. I had to deliberately CAS some sims and townify them to hopefully get some other colours once they start reproducing.

Is there a list of mods somewhere that allow YAs to live outside of uni sub-neighborhoods and live a full life (aging properly, holding jobs, etc...)?

Is there a way to turn down the woohoo autonomy on the photo booth? My sims are constantly hooking up in there and I'm worried about the amount of ACR babies that might result from it.

Is that an ACR thing? I don't think I've ever seen Sims having woohoo in the photo booth? In the clothes changing booth, yes, several of my Sims have had woohoo there, much to the entertainment of the shop staff and other customers. But even that isn't autonomous.

I have difficulty persuading my Sims to use the 'photo booth at all. Most of them seem scared of having their photograph taken. That includes Andrew who gets a fear of using the photo booth every time he visits a lot that has one. I think he's very photogenic, but he doesn't seem to agree. Is it very wrong of me to post so many pictures of him on the Internet, when I know he doesn't like to be photographed?

It's an ACR thing. No woohoo options are autonomous without a mod.

I put photobooths on half or more of the community lots I build. Outgoing sims get an easy date want out of it and it means cheaters don't have to go through the whole changing booth rigamarole. If you can get a pair of lovebirds of suitable ages in there - outgoing sims love having their picture made - you'll get the options Take Picture, Woohoo, and (if of different sexes) Try for Baby. The photobooth rocks back and forth emitting fireworks and bystanders run over to cheer or look disapproving, according to their lights. The Woohoo in Photobooth option satisfies the want for Public Woohoo, and the first one with a partner also counts as a unique woohoo for counting purposes, even if that partner has already been counted in some other woohoo location. I'm sure you've got one or two outgoing sims out there. You should try it.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

All ACR woohoo autonomy is controlled by the woohoo timer, regardless of what object they're using for woohoo.

YAs are technically adults with a "college student" checkbox ticked. What would you call aging properly for them? Having their adult life stage progress?

I guess I can get you started:
pregnancies and baby related wants: https://modthesims.info/d/600518/yo...d-all-that.html
job related wants and fears: https://modthesims.info/download.ph...ork-wants-fears (finding a job is allowed outside of uni 'hood by default, I think)
YA career panel revealer: https://modthesims.info/d/601315/yo...perimental.html
pet related wants, buying and giving away pets: https://modthesims.info/d/613392/pe...university.html

That reminds me that I made a "less wants" version of pets at university based on animal interest and never actually uploaded it

There is squinges college in the hood where they can live by themselves and still keep their status as a student of course-but they don't age normally while they're in college. It's the default (and actually baked in) status of the YA.

Thank you, @Lamare and @FranH ! Really appreciate the links!

Just to clarify, regarding the 'aging properly' part, I was under the impression that having YAs in a base neighborhood will not allow their semester timers/meters to progress properly like they would in a uni sub-neighborhood, especially if they are not enrolled in any courses and have (YA) jobs instead - with the help of mods. 🤔

If you have any trouble with the college timer (the set of books that is included) You have to remember that you can count each semester as two:
Freshman year is 1st & 2nd semesters, Sophomore is 3rd & 4th semesters, Junior is 5th & 6th semesters and Senior is 7th & 8th semesters when you manually advance them (which is required because it is NOT automatic).

Once you set the time at 'graduate' you bring out the cake in the download to age the kid up to adult and voila, it's all over!

I've got written up a whole sheet of what classes and hours the majors are composed of so that when I do advance them in their semesters they're not going to do two classes in one day and they have done all the studying required for the advancement.

Ya gotta keep them kiddoes working on their skills to get through college. Very often they can cruise on the first two semesters but have to buckle down to work at it afterwards.

That's my requirements, though. You can do your YA's any way you like because the usual conditions of the college experience are not the same with the college in the hood. They could slide through the whole 4 years without ever getting any learning in and still graduate without getting kicked out!

I put the "black" hot tub indoors, it's on a stage so it doesn't really clip with the floor below but I can't put ceiling over it. How can I mask it?

Put the ceiling in first? (I am sure I put a hot tub on a stage some time in a lot that was already built, and it had a ceiling in that room).

Negative, that is not possible, the hot tub deletes the ceiling beneath it. I knew this, of course I had a ceiling there before I put the hot tub because this was a 3rd floor, but I tested it anyways and the result was the same: the ceiling gets deleted. Look at this Zarathustra build with the exact same problem.

Interesting indeed - I think I used the other hot tubs then, perhaps for the same reason. Sorry, I cannot help then.

@Yvelotic2001 : Might it be possible to use some of the pre-Apartment Life CC ceilings like these? (There are others on MTS.) These are some of the CC ceiling tiles that some creators made, in the days before Maxis introduced ceilings in Apartment Life. I reckon there must be a chance that they'll work where the Maxis ones don't.

I should really use them in my builds, especially as I like taking indoor Sim-eye-level pictures of my Sims with all walls up. I like seeing the world as my Sims see it.

Anyone still use the program Lucas Easy Sims 2 Cheats 3, found here? Someone recommended it not long ago but it doesn't seem to work for me on Win 11. As in, it does sit in the system tray but the shortcuts don't do anything in game.

To be honest, why do you even need that? you can create a userstartup file with cheat shortcuts quite easily.

Considering how old the program is, you could be missing the relevant dependencies. I tested it, it ... worked? The issue I saw was the control key seemed to be an on/off switch. So ctrl+F1. But then I would have to hit ctrl again to turn it off in order to switch between live/build/buy using the F keys. Not intuitive, or more convenient. Aliases in userStartup seem far easier to me.

Oh dang, didn't know the keys were already bound. And I just got it working too. Could have been handy for lot building was all, since constrainfloorelevation can need toggling a lot. Might try binding F6 and up since they're free, see how that feels. Idk whether I've just been away from PC games too long or whether it's the different key combination on this new computer (ctrl+shift+c+windows instead of ctrl+shift+c) but bringing up the cheat box feels more awkward now.

Again Microsoft and their spyware! Having to click the Windows button to bring up cheats? That just enables Bill Gates to look into what cheats you type!! Grrr :grouchygrandpa:

I wonder what causes Windows to require the Windows key now though...

Don't even get me started on Windows. Few days ago I was getting up to speed on how corruption isn't such a huge thing anymore? And how the only big worry now is OneDrive. Soo I go to take a gander at its settings which meant signing in. Boom, half the system moved over.

Excuse me for thinking I might still get asked first about things on a Windows PC in 2025 lol.

It is possible. in Belladona Cove there is a family called DeBateau who live in Cornerstone Condominiums on one of the upper floors. They have a raised platform with the hot tub in it.

I was curious and made a sim and moved them into the apartment below and there is definitely a ceiling below where the hot tub is. So its possible I just down know how but if you have a play with that apartment you might find out how they did it.
