Step into Obsidian Falls, a tropical paradise sculpted by future ambitions. Volcanoes and waterfalls weave a backdrop for settlers, tourists, and scientists exploring its natural wonders. Amidst a bustling downtown and upscale suburbs, the influence of capital megastride shapes the city, echoing wealth and ambition. Yet, beneath the surface, a cryptic undertone whispers of something more. What exactly is all this scientific research about? Is it just the flora and fauna that pique their interest, or is it something..... supernatural?

Originally conceived as a personal project, this world reached completion around 2014. However, in 2022, I embarked on a journey to revitalize and enhance it, working on it intermittently over time. Everything, except for most of the terrain and textures, underwent a complete overhaul. Today, what you see on the screen is the culmination of this passion project.

Compatibility
The world incorporates build mode items from Monte Vista and includes store content, much of which is free, along with just a few custom items. The world will still run fine without any of this, but I highly recommend at least Monte Vista, as doors and other build items associated with it would need to be replaced in-game. And lastly, of course, the required expansion packs.

*The only items used from The Old Mill set are the Ivy collection, grandmas Jars, Tools of the Trade, and the Well.
*The giant Bonsai(free) is also used, but the link appears to be broken on the sims 3 store.

Technical Stuff
  • 2048 x 2048 map size with highest altitude
  • no more than 8 textures per chunk
  • camera and sim non-routable has been placed where appropriate
  • incorporates spawners, including some from World Adventures
This World has been minimally playtested by me, over many iterations. As of now there are no known bugs. With this being a custom world, there is no doubt minor bugs may still exist. Please feel free to contact me me here with any issues!

Lot Information

Nearly all lots have been created by yours truly, the exception being several skyscrapers in the metro district and one house, all of which have been heavily altered, as well as 4 residential lots created by a close friend. I have included links to the lots made by creators for credit purposes, however these lots are not meant to be downloaded along with the world unless you personally wish to have them - note that some contain CC that is not used in the world.

  • 22 empty houses
  • 4 empty residential lots
  • 47 families
  • 138 sims
All sims were created by me, and contain their own lore, some with an over-arching theme connecting to the story of Obsidian Falls. Lot and Sim descriptions were created and edited with the help of ChatGPT.

World has been populated with sims using the porter method.

This world is pretty ambitious. I generally play with only 4 high-detail lots, but of course playing with more shouldn't do anything besides the pesky "load lag". That being said, I highly recommend using nrass. It really does do wonders for your game.
