I've been playing around with eye textures for quite a while now, experimenting with different things, and I finally made a texture I really liked. I figure, if I want to use it and it's what I'd prefer to use out of everything I have, you guys might like it, too. So... lots of colours! I think I'm gonna use these as my defaults now, so... there's a default replacement set, too, yay! The file sizes on these are still really small, despite the fact that my textures are double normal size. For sim-related content, I normally work double size for a better appearance close-up in the game... I feel the minor impact in performance if you use it where it counts is worth it.

Colour names are after mostly precious and semiprecious stones, hence the name of the set. I used to work in the jewelry trade, so I've used some kind of obscure ones (hey, I did a lot of colours). Yeah, I know some of the colours are a little off for the names (if anyone else is a bit of a lapidary geek like me) and sterling's not a stone, but I kind of fudged 'em a bit. :D

They're very deep and shadowy, much more so than any other set I had - kind of make sims look a little squintier, sort of bedroom eyes, hehe. They're also not incredibly photo-realistic (these are not photoskinned in any way - the textures are all made from scratch in Photoshop), though they look really nice on realistic sims... I don't like the photorealistic look, especially not a photo-like reflection shine, so that's what I've done here. The whites of the eyes are not white, but rather pinkish cream (like the "whites" of eyes really are) and heavily shadowed. These things were my intentional aesthetic choice. Your preferences may vary.

Remember, if you get the default replacements, take out any existing default replacements you may already have FIRST before installing mine! My default replacements always say "DefaultReplacement" in the name so you can search for that to remove mine if ever you want to get rid of them.
