Title

Twelve Dante Gabriel Rossetti Prints, Recolour of Pets "Stodgy Badger"

Description

Dante Gabriel Rossetti, English painter, poet and translator, was a founding member of the mid-nineteenth century Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. These twelve Rossetti prints were selected for their beauty, interest and aspect ratio, all matching closely to that of the Pets "Stodgy Badger Family Portrait" (see the first image below).

The Stodgy Badger costs §130 and comes in a nice frame, with an environment value of 1. Clearly, at this price, these Rossetti recolours must represent good quality framed prints rather than the originals! Note that the Stodgy Badger object places itself in the centre of two wall tiles. The second and fourth pictures in the screen shots were placed next to their companions using "boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false".

These are the works included, listed in the order shown in each attachment:

King Arthur's Tomb
Beata Beatrix
The Beloved
Found

Joli Coeur
Lady Lilith
Mariana
Monna Vanna

Regina Cordium
The Wedding of St. George and Sabra
A Sea Spell
Self Portait (1847)

The images of these Rossetti works are all in the public domain. Beata Beatrix and Self Portrait were sourced from the Wikipedia article on Rossetti. A Sea Spell is from The Art Renewal Centre. All remaining images were downloaded from The Lizzie Siddal Gallery. Each of these three sites is well worth exploring for further information on the artist and these particular works.

I find Rossetti's artwork and poetry fascinating in its graceful beauty, fine detail, subtle symbolism and universal spirituality. And like Rossetti, I have a special place in my heart for Dante Alighieri, and the theme of the Beloved. The Sims seemed to be missing something important without the inclusion of Rossetti, and the only other Simmed example of his paintings that I have been able to locate is Zillah's Prosperine. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

You may include these recolours in any uploaded lots, whether at free or pay sites. It would be nice if you included a credit in the description and sent me a PM. I would prefer that you not upload the collection or components of it elsewhere, if only because such duplication wastes Internet resources and can cause confusion.
