I believe I've had their Chard, and it was good - but, I'm really not a fan of Chard. <shrug>
I much prefer the dark chewy reds. (Zins, Syrah, and Malbecs - MmmmmMmm)
And "Goats" blend is one of my favorites!

Enjoy your break!

Just for you then

(it is a standard joke here - when the waiter brings the wine, and says "Fat Bastard" - you ask : "What are you calling me?")

Those Goat wines are excellent too!

News of my second unofficial play-along entry: We've finished the ranch house, including all the original flowerbeds round it, for less than §20K, and I think we've met all the requirements. Now, if we can build a barn for under §5K, then we're in business! I've also been spending a little time with the Fleming family, and they're looking forward to getting a proper house of their own. If all goes well, I hope I'll be able to post around the weekend.

All quite good, considering how our first attempt disappeared down that sinkhole!

Another contest, another win for the SA team at the Chelsea Flower Show

Winning Best Display and the Gold Medal, the theme of the garden display: Life after Fire.

Fynbos needs fire to survive and reproduce, but wildfires are still being managed with this being kept in mind.

Let us then have another SA winner today to celebrate for the cat herder, the judges and the contestants A selection of Pinotage wines for you all!

There is no government support for the team there, so many of us contribute by giving donations. It is because we know how great the talent is and the stirling record SA has there.

Judge 3: Yes there is a phone it's on the wall between the stairs and the entrance to the lounge

@CatherineTCJD I have CC turned off and very few defaults, but I do have the LS installed

Want a specific style of house or community building? Why not take a look at my profile and see what I build and then come ask me to make it!
Me? Sarcastic? Never.

If you placed the Stories/Preorder in pfiles you won't know if it's cc.

I just saw your floor last night - if I had seen it earlier, I would've mentioned it to you, in case it was an 'oopsie!'
They sneak in on me quite often too. *sigh*

And... I will get in touch with judge 3 to see if they want to give you back the half point for the phone.

Congrats, @Shastakiss!

Thank you, Judges and Cat - I am delighted with my score. I knew I was goving up those 5 points (but, as some-one once said: if it has to go, it has to go)!

Will read some more tomorrow, am out tonight (it is 8.30 pm here, or 20h34, as we say).

Ah, sorry, I forgot to include comments on my submission I've been super busy with work IRL and crammed in my Round 1 and 2 entries and pics during the first week of the contest, hence why I only had pics on my Round 2 post.

The microwave is usable as it is placed on these CC shelves and the kitchen sink is actually 1 tile but visually overlaps on the adjacent counter. The counter space is still free for sims to prepare food or place dishes. The bed is also still functional with the deco pillows/blankets. It looks a bit odd as it's not animated so sims will simply clip through the items when sleeping. There's Lamare's mod that hides the decorative items when the bed is in use (for anyone interested).

No need to edit scores for this though. I'm in this for fun so the few points don't particularly matter to me. Loved everyone's builds this round! Excited to see what everyone has for their third round :D

Thank for all judges. Simmer22 caught my eye again with such particular sight at the kitchen furnishing and sims safety which is close to realistic. Yes, sims can sit at the sofa on tile wich fronted coffe table. I don't exactly know maybe some diagonal animation exists there but I had all three seats filled during my playtest even when 2-tile coffre table was standing next tile to the sofa.

I have an interest what is Fix/Flip Bonus/award? I know however all my scores are hit the bottom and a bit too late to ask about such things at round 2.

The Fix/Flip Bonus is explained in the first post like this:

FIX/FLIP BONUS - Completely subjective (after all, the real estate market is fickle!)
The judges will indicate either Y/N to give you the bonus - one bonus per property.

Which all boils down to: If the judges feel your property would resell easily, you will get the bonus for that property.
You gotta convince 2 outta the 3 judges.

Default Round 2 - Strangetown Adobe

Welcome to the newly opened Blue Flamingo nightclub! I did this lot as a "fix it" - I'm imagining this might be a fun place for Ripp to buy after he earns enough. I don't know how accurate this ended up being to my original build, but I think I'm happy with it anyway. It's hard to do a build from memory!

I've playtested the lot and all the routing works fine and everything, but I forgot to make a cat so the cat food bowl location might not be accessible to pets (although my sim could fill it). It turned out that the lot backup I had was also borked, so I ended up starting over pretty much from scratch, so that's why it took so long, sorry! This version of the lot also seems slightly cursed - one of the connecting arches stopped connecting and refused to connect again, and the terrain slowly became covered in weird spots.

It's not terrain-paint-erasable, and I don't have a matching terrain paint for this terrain as it's my work-in-progress default, so I just gave up trying to solve it. Hopefully you can imagine it unblemished to know what it was supposed to look like! I hope the pictures are clearer this time - I used the top-down camera instead of the free camera and I think that worked better for the overheads. Thanks judges and sorry for giving you extra work!

That would be the outer cement walls. Basically, the "shell" walls need to stay in place. You can, of course, add around them.
And... if you remember from earlier in the thread, those walls will probably be blank if you've removed all of your CC. Because the wall I used is from the LS Bundle - and I most certainly do NOT get my CC-Free bonus for using them. .

Y'all I'm thrilled, thank you so much because I love what everyone has shared and I'm blown away by the other entries! Very interested and grateful for the judges' comments too, what wonderful feedback. (Whoa I never thought about vents in bathrooms, 'playing sims' means our budget is unlimited - thank you ctrl-z 'undo' - and we don't really have to think about things like laundry or air circulation but you're right, one of the eps gave us all the vents!? I'm running off to add them to all my round 3 bathrooms now!

Thanks again!
