I don't really like the Sunset Valley Art Institute, but I didn't hate it enough to go to the trouble of demolishing it and rebuilding it. But recently (since the last patch) my unaltered base game art museum has been covered in giant rainbow tiles with question marks on them. I've seen other people report this issue, so I know it's not something I did. So, I finally decided to get rid of the old eyesore and build an art gallery I like. I named it 'Wrensday' after a truly awful lot that came with the Sims 1 Hot Date ep. That Wrensday's was also an art gallery of sorts, which included an homage to artist Marcel Duchamp, a urinal placed in the gallery as art. In homage to this homage, I have also included a toilet on a pedestal as art. If you don't think a toilet can be art, feel free to swap it for something else. :D

Wrensday Art Gallery is recognized as an art gallery by the game (has the gallery icon in the neighborhood screen') and can be used to throw parties.



The lot consists of the main gallery (the larger building in back) with two smaller buildings in front that form the main entrance, one a restroom and the other an 'office' with easels. Between the buildings is a courtyard built around a large cypress tree. On either side of the building are patios with sculptures, fountains, a buffet table, a bar and tables and chairs for dining. (Useful for parties).
I threw a party here during testing and my Sim and her guests got 'Sweet venue party' buffs.

Except for the door, all the Store items are sculpture and paintings, so it wouldn't be a huge issue if you don't have those items. You'd need to replace the door and a few art things.
