Greetings, Simmers!
Mayan Revival was a requested aspect of the Art Deco movement. I hope that this offering will fulfill design needs.
In 1923, Frank Lloyd Wright's opinion was that concrete was the ugliest of building materials. In order to see if anything could, aesthetically, be done with
the dreaded material, he designed and built several homes in the Los Angeles area built with textured concrete panels. The panels in this Sims2 rendition
are taken, primarily, from the John Storer house in the Hollywood Hills. From what I found on that house, the concrete is not only on the outside... but thru
the interior of the house as well. While working with this, I found that (for me, at least) The residence took on a cold, almost cave-like feel. I had to replace
most of the interior concrete with wallpaper....
On the exterior.... with the numerous retaining walls and terraces, the house gives the feel of an old Mayan temple. The more dense and overgrown the foliage,
the more pleasing the look....
This is a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house
it is built on a 4x4 lot
total furnished cost is 183,490 simoleons
excuse the "landscaping"... if I landscape something, and it looks good.... it was probably an accident.....
